Request documents

Use Request Documents to allow others to add items to your vault.

The Request Documents feature allows you to request files from someone without inviting them to your vault. Any uploaded items will be added to your Documents section.

How do I request documents?

In the Documents section, click the blue + Add. Select Request Documents. Enter a valid email address (or multiple email addresses) in the Recipients box. Choose the desired Link Expiration. Add an optional Message and click Send Request.

What happens when a request for documents has been made?

When you make a request for documents, the person you specified as a recipient will receive an email from Prisidio. This email will contain a link that will direct this person to a landing page. For security purposes, we require a confirmation code to be entered before uploading a document. When they select the button to send a code, your intended recipient will need to locate the confirmation code email, retrieve the confirmation code and enter it in the confirmation code box. Only then will they have the ability to upload documents to your vault.

Does the link to upload documents expire?

When you request documents, an email is sent to your intended recipients. This email contains a link to a landing page where documents can be uploaded to your vault. For security purposes, this email link will expire. It is up to you to determine when you would like this link to expire. You can choose from four options.

After first open: The link will not work after it is selected the first time and the confirmation code is entered.

1 day: The link expires 24 hours after being sent.

7 days: The link expires 7 days after being sent.

15 days: The link expires 15 days after being sent.

If you select the upload link when the link expires, you will be taken to a landing page informing you that this link is no longer valid.

What document types can be uploaded?

You can upload any of the supported document types.
